DDR MAX is the latest Dance Dance Revolution game from Konami, and is the first version of DDR on the PlayStation 2.

An early E3 build of DDR Max came with 14 playable songs, ranging from exotic ethnic and Share My Love to Brilliant 2U ~orchestra groove~ and INSERTiON. In addition to those songs there will be an extra stage called MAX 300, which can be reached by AA'ing the final song. Continuing with the trend of US exclusive songs, DDRMAX for the US PS2 will also feature Overblast by L.E.D. Light, originally from Beatmania 5th mix. This is one of twenty new songs which will be exclusive to the American release of DDRMAX, 65 songs guaranteed, and a rumored 80 songs or more will be featured on this mix.

DDRMAX will feature DVD playback, meaning there will be full motion videos and smoother game play. Introduced into DDR for the first time is the "Freeze Arrows." You must hold your foot down on the corresponding arrow. There is also an option called "Reverse" which makes the arrows scroll down instead of up! If that isn't challenging enough for you, there is also a mode called "Boost" which slows the arrows down and rapidly increases the speed of the arrows as it scrolls.

A new feature which will be introduced into the US DDRMAX is x0.5 speed. Introduced to help players when playing faster songs, the half speed feature can also pose quite a challenge to the most experienced players when used on slower tempo tunes.
